I am 27 and I was raised in Ellensburg, WA. Five years ago I moved to Juneau, AK and this spring I received a bachelors degree in the social sciences from the University of Alaska Southeast (UAS). Now I am in the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program at UAS and I am student teaching at Thunder Mountain High School (TMHS) here in Juneau. Most people consider Juneau a small town; however, with a population of 30,000 I find myself in the largest city I've lived in. I like the area here because it offers a wealth of outdoor activities which satisfy my interests. In my free time I enjoy doing anything that requires me to be outside. You name it and I probably enjoy it. Except for swatting mosquitoes, don't like that! These days I am engaged in the community at TMHS. I have a great mentor teacher and together we teach two world history and three Alaska history classes. Without question the most rewarding aspect of being at TMHS is building relationships with the students. They are all amazing individuals and I am proud to work with them. On Fridays, I attend classes at UAS which further my education in the arts of teaching. Thank you for visiting my webpage! Sincerely, Nick Steele
