Reflection on Philosophy Video
This was a challenging project. Negotiating the obstacles and challenges was intense at times and learning how to find help was necessary. This was a higher level of technology learning because the programs are pretty advanced. The discouraging factor at times is that there surely has to be quick ways of executing many of the program commands and functions; however, troubleshooting as a means of learning wears a person down. Ultimately, a trial and error approach had to be adopted in order to finish my Educational Philosophy Video.
In trying to blend images with my thoughts, I found that I am especially drawn to images of the outdoors. Even though many times I would refer to the classroom, I made a connection with the outdoors and my approach to learning. Ultimately, that the classroom needs to be a place where students understand that all life is nurtured and made possible by the natural environment and learning appropriate ways to interact with our environment should be a priority.
If I was to do a project like this with my students I would want to have student involvement in the planning process. Students have a fantastic grasp on technology and I would like to learn from them about the programs we might use. Students could help create a rubric and checklist for project requirements in order to ensure that the video making programs were being used to the their potentials.
